Moderating the WX 2018 panel – Merrie S. Frankel

I moderated a WX Breakfast panel at Columbia University for New York Women Executives in Real Estate (WX), attended by MBA students from the Business School and MSRED (Masters in Real Estate Development) students from the Architecture School. We discussed the panelists’ diverse real estate careers and the WX Scholar Program.

WX is an invitation-only association of more than 200 senior level women representing all aspects of the commercial real estate industry, from owners, developers and private equity professionals to lawyers, architects, bankers, brokers and engineers.

The WX Scholars Program’s goal  – an initiative of the WX Charitable Fund, Ltd. for which I am Treasurer –  is to encourage and support bright and talented young women pursuing challenging careers in real estate and related professions in the New York metropolitan area.

Since the program was launched in 2004, over $1 million in scholarships have been awarded to over 245 women at 14 schools.

Participating schools include Columbia University, New York University, Baruch College, New York Law School, The City College of New York (CCNY), Pratt Institute, Rutgers University, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, Lehigh University, Yale University, Harvard University, Cornell University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
